Donation Promotion Extended on Return to Crutcher Mountain by Melinda Clayton

are extending the donation period to benefit the Tipton County Adult Developmental Center! All sales of Melinda’s novel, Return to Crutcher Mountain, print and electronic, will earn a donation to the center, direct from VHP and Melinda.

TCADC serves adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities, and
as all human service agencies, operates on a shoestring budget. So, why do we want to do this? Melinda’s brother, Sam, attends the center, where he learns valuable life and social skills, is surrounded in safety and camaraderie, and enjoys activities on a daily basis.

This book is for my brother, Sam, who has inspired and influenced all of us more than he’ll ever know.  This book wouldn’t exist without you.

A Baker’s Dozen of Fabulous Vanilla Heart Publishing Authors to be represented at Deltona, Florida 2nd Annual Author Book Fair, Celebrating Writers and Readers!

Saturday, October 15, from 11 to 3, the Deltona Florida Regional Library will host its second Annual Authors Book Fair – Celebrating Writers and Readers. The book fair attracted 70 authors last year and served as an introduction to authors and poets in Florida or those who call Central Florida readers their audience.

VHP Authors Angela Kay Austin, Anne K. Albert, Charmaine Gordon, Celle Cordero, Collin Kelley, L.E. Harvey, Malcolm R. Campbell, Marilyn Celeste Morris, Melinda Clayton, Robert Hays, S.R. Claridge, Smoky Trudeau Zeidel, and Victoria Howard will all be represented at the Vanilla Heart Publishing booths, spaces 34 and 35, with giveaways, specials, and prizes.

Melinda Clayton Receives Sapphic Readers’ Award for Debut Novel, Appalachian Justice

Vanilla Heart Publishing is thrilled to announce Melinda Clayton’s debut novel, Appalachian Justice, is the recipient of the Sapphic Reader’s Award for 2011. This award is given annually by The Sapphic Reading Group — an Austin, Texas based reading group of fifteen women founded more than seven years ago to discuss excellent lesbian fiction.

According to the awards committee, “…Criteria for the award includes: original storyline, believable plot, well-developed characters, superior writing style, and quality entertainment. The Sapphic Readers’ Award includes a check and a personalized plaque created by a local artist.”
